Refresher and Update Courses

The skills of navigation and seamanship are constantly developing, particularly in response to technological advances. Our occasional refresher and update courses are designed to be a relaxed (no exams!) way to keep your skills honed and up to date!

Course are scheduled when there is a need or demand for a course on a particular topic or development. Why not email us with any topic that you would like us to cover? If there is enough demand, we will do what we can.

Course type:
is usually offered as a 4 to 6 week night class, running alongside our main courses.

Recent courses:
Courses are aimed at those who have completed the Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Offshore Theory and cover Understanding Weather at Sea, Pilotage and Advanced Passage Planning, GPS, Radar and Electronic Plotting.
